First post in 2014 about first book i read. It calls Paper Cranes, written by Cheryl Koenig. I had this book since about 2009-2010 and tried to read it several times before, but only finished it yesterday, after 2 days of reading. I got this book from my friend, and at the first time I read it, I thought it's gonna be a boring reading, so I put it back to my shelf. Since last year, I take an annual reading challenge in goodreads and finished with 38 books out of my 30 books target last year and set 40 books target this year but only start reading since about 3 days ago :)
This book might not match with my reading profile, because I read fiction a lot and the way the author tells the story is very straight and clear that makes no needs for the reader to take time to imagining the story. But this book is such an inspiring book which tell the hard work of Cheryl Koenig and her family to get through their son's brain injury from car accident. This books tells a lot about Cheryl emotional experience through the accident and her son recovery, but I think words still not good enough to describe their sadness, shock, and desperation about their love ones. This book encourage me as a normal person to do more and better also remind me to be grateful for the health and normal life. The most valuable thing that Chery told us is you have to keep the spirit to fight and survive, ignore all the negative comments and try to do what you have and what you can do.
